Tulip Mug
Thrown on the potter's wheel by the talented Ella Bua-In, this smooth matte mug is just as beautiful as it is functional.
After forming the clay, Ella uses a rich terracotta glaze for the inside while the outer is covered in a soft white finish, followed by hand-painted tulips in oxide blue. Storytelling through hand-drawn illustrations is key to Ella's work, where she often references Ancient Greek and Roman pottery, folk tales and myths, as well as traditional brushwork techniques and botanical studies.
Ella taught herself to pot after painting her way through a BA in Fine Art before moving to Cardigan, West Wales, with her family.
The mug is intended to be imperfect and tactile, with no two looking exactly the same; a feature which only adds to its handcrafted charm.
A large mug which can hold approximately 250ml of your favourite brew.
Measures approximately D9 x H10cm. Dishwasher friendly but hand-washing is recommended to ensure longevity.
