The name Carrick reflects her roots, derived from the coastal area near her hometown in Galloway. Holt’s work is heavily influenced by Japanese aesthetics, particularly wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection and the natural flaws that make each piece unique.
The bothies, measuring about 6-8 cm in height and 9 cm in width, are not only visually striking but also evoke a sense of warmth and tradition. Through these small shelters, she captures the spirit of Scottish bothies and the rugged beauty of her homeland, offering a minimalist yet soulful connection to nature and tradition.
