Stoneware Short Tumbler Brushstroke Black
Our brushstroke tumbler is handcrafted from stoneware by Carrick, an independent pottery owned by Amiee Holt based in Scotland.
Amiee chose the name Carrick for her ceramic work because it translates to 'rock' in Gaelic, a term which serves as a reminder of her coastal hometown in rural Galloway.
As well as being inspired by Scotland's rugged landscapes and crashing seas, Amiee is influenced by the minimalism and simplicity of Japanese forms, finding beauty in imperfection – just like the black brushstrokes on this tumbler.
Amiee has left the outside of the tumbler unglazed to represent the colours and textures found along sandy coastlines and the roughness of rocks washed against the shore. To finish, every tumbler is hand-stamped with Carrick on the bottom. It's a perfectly formed piece that's ready to hold your morning coffee.
Measures H7 x D8cm.
As these tumblers are handmade no two will be exactly the same, a feature which only adds to their charm.
