Scottish Flamed Beech Cutting Board
This solid wood chopping board is hand-crafted on Skye by Eòghainn, a young man who uses Scottish flamed beech sourced from Fife.
Every piece of timber comes from responsibly managed, fully traceable Scottish woodlands and is kiln-dried with care and skill before reaching his workshop. When designing each board, Eòghainn draws the piece out first before cutting, shaping and sanding entirely by hand. These particular boards are characterised by their flame-like pattern of wavy red streaks, typical of this type of timber.
Eòghainn lives here on Skye with his family and has been making chopping boards and lathe-turned bowls for the past few years, learning his skills from his dad who passed on both his tools and love for the craft.
Each board is finished and preserved using British Food Safety Standard Mineral Oil.
Sold individually.
