The perfect gift for a loved one, the large Forget Me Not Mug is hand thrown by Paige Mitchell in her Norwich-based studio.
Paige's ideas are developed through gardening, sketchbook drawing, and both wheel thrown and hand-built ceramics. Her designs come to life in the top floor of her independent lifestyle store called Elm which she founded 2017.
This stoneware mug is thrown on the wheel using speckled clay with a shape that tapers out slightly at the top for a traditional look. After its initial bisque firing, the mug is left to dry then stamped with Paige's signature on the bottom, waxed and finished with a glossy transparent glaze before being decorated with floral forget-me-nots ready for its final firing.
Each mug is handmade which means no two are exactly alike; a uniqueness which only adds to their charm.
Holds approximately 400ml and measures around 10 x 12cm. Dishwasher and microwave safe, though this is discouraged for longevity.
